“I support and commend the governor’s thoughtful approach to California’s top priority issues and his continued focus on fiscal restraint. I am wholly committed to working with the Governor and my colleagues to make practical investments in our future, grow the economy, and be responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars. Now is the time to build for the future by creating an environment for more job opportunities and higher paying jobs. We cannot make the same mistakes of the past and commit ourselves to new, on-going spending programs that will drive the state into massive budget deficits, especially when we continue to have walls of debt and growing unfunded liabilities.
