Seeking Donations of School Supplies from October 1 to November 20

SAN BERNARDINO – Today, Assemblyman Marc Steinorth, R-Rancho Cucamonga, announced the kick-off of the annual “Stuff the Bus” drive for students attending San Bernardino City Unified School District schools. The donations of new school supplies will be collected at drop-off locations throughout the community between October 1 and November 20.

“Every student deserves a quality education. I have made it a priority of mine to ensure the San Bernardino City Unified School District has the supplies they need to achieve their true academic potential,” said Assemblyman Steinorth. “I encourage the community to help us stuff the bus and provide students in San Bernardino City with the tools they need to excel in school.”

The “Stuff the Bus” campaign asks for donations of new school supplies to provide students who would otherwise go without the tools they need to help reach their academic potential. From October 1 until November 20, individuals are encouraged to donate backpacks, binders, notebooks, paper, pens, pencils, rulers, calculators and other basic supplies. All supplies collected will be distributed to needy students who live in the 40th Assembly District and who attend a school in the San Bernardino City Unified School District. Information about the distribution of the school supplies will be announced at a later date, shortly before the conclusion of the drive.

“We want to thank the community for their generous donations of school supplies to help our students reach their academic potential,” said Dr. Dale Marsden, Superintendent of San Bernardino Unified School District. “We are also pleased to once again partner with Assemblyman Marc Steinorth on the ‘Stuff the Bus’ program that generates these supplies to help our students and families in need throughout the academic year.”
