  1. San Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon Endorses Assemblyman Marc Steinorth for Reelection

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA — Longtime small business owner and State Assemblyman, Marc Steinorth has received the endorsement of San Bernardino County Sheriff, John McMahon, in his campaign for reelection.

Sheriff John McMahon began his career with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department as a patrol deputy at the Needles Police/Sheriff’s Station. After rising through the ranks, McMahon was appointed to Sheriff by the Board of Supervisors and was subsequently elected Sheriff in 2014.

“Marc Steinorth is a tremendous advocate for law enforcement and cares deeply about the safety and wellbeing of our communities and our officers,” stated Sheriff McMahon. “We need more leaders like Marc who understand the importance of providing the necessary resources for law enforcement to carry out our duties, especially as crime increases as a result of AB 109 and Proposition 47. Marc is a strong voice for our region, and I enthusiastically support his campaign for reelection.”

As the Assemblyman, Marc has introduced legislation to fix the loopholes created by Proposition 47, including a bill that would take guns away from convicted felons, whose crimes are now classified as a misdemeanor. Marc also supported legislation that would make possession of the date rape drug a felony. Since elected, Steinorth has concentrated his efforts in areas such as public safety and education reform, while working to create a more business-friendly California and increase the availability of affordable housing throughout the state.

“I am honored to have the endorsement of Sheriff McMahon,” said Assemblyman Steinorth. “Our law enforcement is dealing with challenging times and Sacramento is making things even more difficult. As a father and small business owner, public safety is a top priority of mine and I am committed to fighting to keep our communities safe.”

In 1998, Marc founded Atlas Buying Group, Inc., which provides professional services for both local and national small businesses, helping them expand and create jobs. As a successful small business owner and former Rancho Cucamonga Council Member, Marc has experience with balancing budgets and running organizations in a fiscally responsible manner.

Marc and his wife, Maria and their two children live in Rancho Cucamonga. He is seeking reelection to the 40th Assembly district, which includes the communities of Highland, Loma Linda, Rancho Cucamonga, Redlands, San Bernardino and the unincorporated areas of Mentone, Devore, Lytle Creek and portions of Phelan.
