Assemblyman Marc Steinorth Honors Pamela Langford as Woman of the Year

Sacramento, CA — Today Assemblyman Marc Steinorth honored Pamela Langford as the 2015 Woman of the Year for the 40th Assembly District. For decades, Ms. Langford has shaped and managed numerous programs at CSU San Bernardino which successfully engage students and alumni into the community, forging job opportunities for graduates, and building strong career paths.

In her work as the former Director of Alumni Affairs of CSU San Bernardino, Ms. Langford quadrupled the size of the Alumni Association endowment, which provides scholarship funds for students throughout the region. These scholarships provide valuable opportunities for deserving youth to attend college and build a bright future. She also played an integral role in securing federal grant funds for the University to support CoyoteCareers, which links students to alumni to explore and help find careers. Ms. Langford is now the Director of Executive Affairs at the University, continuing her tireless work to improve student opportunities for success.

“I am so grateful to receive this honor,” said Ms. Langford. “l am proud to call Redlands my home, and to champion the success of our students and workforce. I truly treasure the opportunity to engage students, alumni, and the greater community every day, and to invest in the future of San Bernardino.”

Held annually, the Woman of the Year ceremony celebrates California’s extraordinary women. The first ceremony was held in I987 to help commemorate Women’s History Month. The event has become an annual Capitol tradition to salute women who have done outstanding community service.

“Ms. Langford has always demonstrated a selfless devotion to students and the greater San Bernardino community,” said Steinorth. “She inspires our youth to dream big and achieve their greatest goals, leaving at lasting impact in each of her endeavors. CSU San Bernardino is blessed to have a champion as talented and dedicated as Ms. Langford.”
