SACRAMENTO – Assemblyman Marc Steinorth (R-Rancho Cucamonga) announced Fontana Mayor Acquanetta Warren as his 2018 Woman of the Year.

“It is a privilege to name Mayor Acquanetta Warren as the 40th Assembly District’s Woman of the Year for 2018,” said Assemblyman Steinorth. “Mayor Warren truly embodies what it means to be a selfless and engaging leader in our region.”

As the first female and African American elected Mayor of Fontana, Acquanetta Warren advocates for a healthier community, improving public safety, bringing businesses into the city, generating jobs, and creating educational opportunities. She has been a servant to her community on city council since her appointment in 2002.

“I want to thank Acquanetta for empowering our community and paving the way for future generations of women seeking public service. She works hard to make sure every voice is heard, businesses are thriving and creating jobs, and people are proud to call Fontana their home,” said Assemblyman Steinorth.

“I’m so honored to receive this award from my good friend, Assemblyman Steinorth,” said Mayor Warren. “I’m committed to continuing to empower women and young girls to work hard and dream big.”

Mayor Warren’s service extends far beyond her time on the Fontana City Council dais. She not only leads the City of Fontana to success, but the entire Inland Empire community. Mayor Warren has cultivated relationships across California to engage in conversations on a variety of issues. Among notable accomplishments, she has raised $525,000 for the Fontana Boys and Girls Club through an annual Mayor’s Gala.

“We are so lucky and proud to have Acquanetta as a leader in our community and I look forward to continuing to work with her for many years to come,” said Assemblyman Steinorth.

Assemblyman Marc Steinorth (R-Rancho Cucamonga) represents the 40th Assembly District in the California Legislature, which includes the cities of Redlands, Highland, Loma Linda, and portions of San Bernardino and Rancho Cucamonga.
